Fewer things are more important than knowing your roots.
It’s what helps keep you stable in life, reminds you of your youth, and supports you as you grow in life.
My mother grew up on Strawberry Hill Road In Mohegan Lake NY and I have so many fond memories of our family time spent in that home.
I love mountain scenery & the rustic country feel. So much, I decided to establish my business in this special area. And I’m not the only one.
Old Mountain Woodworking is a fellow homegrown business.
Bryan and Sabrina Ortquist use recycled wood to create durable, beautiful one-of-a-kind pieces you usually only see in magazines.
Using all in an effort to give these slabs of wood a new life, no two pieces are alike and each is unique for every client.
Bryan is a self-taught woodworker, as a young boy, he was always experimenting & building special pieces. What started out as a favorite past time turned into a beautiful family business.
I had followed them on social media for a while and jumped at the opportunity to work with them on a special project, more to come on that exciting project soon.
We discovered quickly that our two companies work very well together.
Not only in our collaboration skills but in thriving to create special and unique items our clients are proud to share (and show off) to friends and family.

There are so many special locally owned businesses with rich Hudson Valley histories.
I guess that’s why it’s the perfect place to create your own roots, so you can make lasting memories with your family and friends for years to come.
P.S. A fun fact is that Old Mountain Woodworking is named after the street Bryan and Sabrina live on with their children.
You don’t have to name your business after a local road in order to have roots here, you just need to have love & appreciation for the great outdoors and history.
